Have you ever been scratched by a cat, or chased by a dog? And that cat left a nasty scar on you hand or that dog rendered you cynophobia for life? I might have experienced similar events.
Have you ever heard of the word schadenfreude? Look it up if not. See, this where people go a bit dark. Some may view this as inhuman or unsympathetic but the word exists for a reason.
Let me get back to my questions. Imagine that after a while, this cat or dog suddenly appeares in front of you. The only difference is, it is now dead. Or even better, limping and begging for your mercy to help it nurse itself to health. What would you do? Would you quickly grab that yellow pages and phone the nearest vet? Would you kick it so hard that it dies, saying that you're trying to end its misery to justify your act? Would you just ignore and watch it gasp for its every breath? Or would you do the former but, giggle secretly as you wait for the anambulance(animal-ambulance, if such thing exists) to arrive?
Me? I have yet to be given such question, so I'll have to wait and see.
I've actually experienced it, but with humans instead of animals. I mean for animals u can't really blame them right, they probably feel threaten by u or they just don't like u because of ur pheromones or simply bcoz they're crazy.
seriously u've never felt it?
You changed your tagline, quite refreshing... your writing is getting better too i.e you express what u wish to say well.
As for your questions... many many years ago, i was chased by 2 dogs, and was quite traumatised by it. I remained afraid of dogs for years after but alhamdulillah have come over it. So, if i encounter such a situation where the 2 dogs which chased me were hurt/limping(actually, the 2 dogs would have died of old age by now... but i forgive them), i definitely wouldn't do all those evil things. Given a choice, I would call an anambulance if such a thing exists, BUT, assuming no such things exists... whether i would actually take it to the vet is something i myself am not sure i would do or not. if i did, then alhamdulillah, but if i didn't, then it's not because of vengeance, but more because of nonchalance.
And so i pray that Allah will save us from such nonchalance because doing nothing is, i feel, equally evil. Edward Burke put it nicely, " All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
perhaps we should extrapolate this post of yours to cover fellow human beings who have been unkind to us and reflect thereof...
As for your question, Jal, I've never said never. x)
